The annual members only picnic held on Friday, 13th Jan 2012 in Jubilee Park,
Sohar was a huge success. Nearly 250 members and their families came to spend
time together. I, on behalf of the Executive Committee of Indian Social Club,
Sohar wish to thank all those who came to make the event memorable. We are
grateful to our sponsors Al Jazeera Steel, Jindal Shahdeed Iron & Steel, Sharq
Sohar Steel, Pepsi Oman, Fairtrade and Al Nahdha group of companies for helping
us out.
Annual Picnic - 13-Jan-2012
Dear Friends,
We are all set for the members
only picnic this Friday, 13th Jan 2012 ... The venue as informed in the
previous mail is the Silver Jubilee Park, near Sohar Beach Hotel. We have
narrowed down the spot where we will all collect to be nearer to the beach side
and entry to that area can be done by parking directly on the beach or entry
from the Gate no. 1 near Sohar Beach Hotel side and just walk in. If anyone has
any location confusion please call me or any Executive Committee member for
directions.
Time from 10 a.m onwards
Please come with your families and the plan is for everybody to enjoy the
pleasant weather, meet & spend time with each other in the outdoors. Please bring your caps, hats,
umbrellas, frisbees, mats / chatai and folding chairs if you so desire.
Otherwise you will have to sit on the grass. As
it is slightly windy please be prepared and especially children should be well
clothed. Few swings are there at the location for small children and the whole
beach for all.
Their are lot of gifts and we hope to keep you busy with games, lucky draw,
Tambola etc so that all are together at one spot. Tea, snacks and lunch will be
catered at the venue. You can also bring personal eatables to share with friends
and fellow members. I hope to be one of those who gets to taste the
delicacies !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We are looking for ideas and volunteers to help us organize the games. Please

For logistical reason this picnic is only for members of Indian Social
Club, Sohar. Non-members can take part by becoming members latest by 11th Jan
2012. Forms are at our website www.iscsohar.com
The cost for the picnic is highly, highly subsidized. It is R.O 1/- for Single members & R.O
2/- per family for members with family status & children upto 18 years of age.
For children above 18 years and for parents of members an additional R.O 1/- per
individual need to be paid. The nominal cost has been kept for us to know the
numbers attending. So please register for the picnic by paying this nominal amount.
All those members and their families who want to attend the picnic can do so by registering themselvs by
paying the fee mentioned above to me or any of the Executive Committee members
whose phone nos. are mentioned below between 5 - 8 pm, latest by Wednesday, 11th
Jan 2012. Please mention numbers attending i.e. children / adults and whether
Vegetarian or Non-Vegetarian. Only those members whose money is paid will be
allowed to attend the picnic as we need to have an idea about how
many people to cater lunch for and make arrangements accordingly. Lunch will be
served strictly by lunch coupons.

All members of ISC, Sohar are welcome but please remember that only
those members who have registered will be allowed to attend the picnic or else there will be logistical
problem about food and other arrangement. If you do not register and drop in at
the venue you may be dissappointed.
A letter requesting for sponsorship is attached with this mail and we hope
corporates / individuals will liberally come forward to help us in this
endevour.
A counter will also be set up at the
picnic venue for members to renew their
membership for the year 2012. Only those members who renew their membership can
vote in the elections to be held on Friday, 10th Feb 2012. Details of the
