MEMBERSHIP APPEAL FOR INDIAN SOCIAL CLUB, SOHAR
The recent industrial developments in Sohar and surrounding Wilayats have
brought an upsurge in the inflow of Indian Expatriate Community. With the
growing numbers, the need for social and cultural interactions amongst us
Indians is being felt. Hence a common platform for socio-cultural interactions
and activities has become inevitable to try to uplift the quality of our
overseas social life, cultural heritage and tradition of our motherland.
It gives me great pleasure to inform you that after 3 years of endeavor and with
the support of many of you we have been able to get permission from the Ministry
of Social Development to form the Indian Social Club for Batinah region based
here in Sohar. The ISC, Sohar was inaugurated by H.E Shri Anil Wadhwa, the
Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman on 20th April 2010 at a
ceremony held in Mandoos Hall.

- To organize Social, Cultural & Sporting Activities for the members at Sohar

- Organize Educational Seminars on Social issues, Health, Finance etc.

- Recognize and encourage talent amongst Indians in Sohar
- To have a permanent site / building for Indian Social Club, Sohar
