Dear Friends ,

Phew !!!! It was tough but we did it.

It gives me great pleasure to inform one and all, on behalf of the Executive Committee, Indian Social Club, Sohar that the twin events over the last weekend were completed successfully and both were smashing hits. The Bank Muscat Corporate Cricket Cup-2014 held on Friday, 21st Nov. attracted 29 teams and eventual winners were Al Nahdha while the runner up were Shamal Plastics. Details of various other prize winners are on the website.

The Hasya Kavi Sammelan held on Saturday, 22nd Nov. was a roaring hit with more than 700 people packing the venue till the very end. I am grateful to our sponsors Jindal Shadeed Iron & Steel, Muscat Pharmacy, Al Nahdha group of companies, Al Omaniya Finacial Services, Al Jazeera Steel, Tasnim Enterprises, Shamal Plastics, Sharq Sohar Steel Rolling Mills, Malabar Gold & Diamond Jewellery as well as our media sponsors Times of Oman for their support.

Next on the calendar is the 5th Annual Antakshari event to be held on Friday, 5th December 2014 in the refurbished Amphitheatre in Sohar Entertainment Centre.

The event will be hosted by Mr.Ramesh Mani (CEO - Majan Glass Company) and Mrs.Namita Gupta (IMCO) for ISC, Sohar for the fifth year running.
We invite teams of 2-3 members interested in taking part to give their team names latest by Wednesday 3rd Dec. 2012 to either of the following

Entry fee per team will be R.O 3/- for an all ISC, Sohar member team, R.O 5/- for a mixed team of members & non-members and R.O 6/- for a non-member team. The best male & female singer of the evening will get a prize sponsored by Majan Glass. Entry to the Amphitheatre to watch the event is free for all.
Like every year, Mr.Mani and Mrs. Namita have promised to take us through the'Unpredictable' route with lots of tricks and turns including surprises in the various rounds which will range from vocal, audio and visual rounds. Decision of the Official host of the evening will be final. 
RULES FOR ANTAKHSHARI – Season 5 
  • The event is open to both members of Indian Social Club, Sohar and non-members.
  • If entries received exceed 20 teams then ISC, Sohar reserves the right to conduct a written screening Music/Film quiz from which the teams would be shortlisted. 
  • Members of the same family e.g. Husband & Wife can form separate teams.
  • Event is team based with a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 3 participants in each team. 
  • Usual rules of Antakhshri will apply. Hindi film songs will be the basis of the event.
