Independence Day
celebrations in Sohar
India’s 64th Independence Day
was celebrated in Sohar on 15th August 2010. On this occasion the
Indian Flag was hoisted in the premises of the Indian School, Sohar by Mr.
Haridas Jeevraj Jeeva, President of the School Management committee in the
presence of the students and staff.
This was followed by a series of
competition organized by the Indian Social Club, Sohar in various categories and
on various themes. The events ranged from Crayon colouring for the tiny tots,
drawing, painting by the junior sections and an essay writing competition for
Class 7th to 9th about their dream for the future of
India.
The senior classes had an elocution
competition on the topic of “The single biggest problem, India is facing and its
solution”. The events were very well participated and almost 300 students took
part in the various events. The events were organized with the help of the
Principal of Indian School, Sohar Mr. J.K Arora and by Mrs. Mousmi Bandhopadhya
