Dear friends,

On behalf of the Executive Committee of Indian Social Club, Sohar I wish one and all a very happy Onam.

The Executive Committee of ISC, Sohar in association with the Indian Embassy, Muscat is organizing "An evening of Sufi music" by an 8-member troupe led by Ms. Sonam Kalra including musicians. Ms. Sonam Kalra and her group "The Sufi Gospel Project" has performed on various platforms including Coke Studio and for visiting dignitaries in India and abroad. The group will sing in various languages including Urdu, Hindi, English and Punjabi to the accompaniment of  a live orchestra. The artistes are coming to Sohar courtesy Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR).

The evening of Sufi music will be held in the E-theatre of Sohar University, Sohar on Monday, 15th September 2014 from 7 pm onwards. We know that it is a working day and kids examination are around the corner but the dates are as per schedule sent from India. Despite that I hope you will join us in large numbers. Artistes like these come once in a while and it a good occasion to listen to them. Arrangements for snacks at the venue will be made on payment basis.

Entry is free for all and all nationalities are welcome to come and enjoy the evening.

I hope lots of you will turn up to enjoy the soulful music which only Sufi can provide. A poster about the event is attached for circulation and for display on notice boards with permission. We are looking for corporates to sponsor the event to cover costs of A-V arrangements, rent for the hall etc. Please contact me for the same.
